Accessibility, translation and RTL

Lumina Edu supplies visible focus, keyboard-operable controls, semantic headings, a skip link, a breadcrumb in a labelled navigation landmark on every inner page, reduced-motion rules, states written in words as well as colour, and measured colour pairs. That does not make every finished site conformant: your content, photographs, plugins, external destinations and custom colours remain part of the result.

What is built in

• One h1 per page: the finder sentence on a home, the title in the banner on an inner page.
• The finder is a real form. It is server-rendered, produces a plain address, and works without JavaScript. With JavaScript, results update in place, a polite status line announces how many programs answer, and the old results stay while the new ones load. Comparison is limited to three programs and needs no cookie or local storage.
• Words over photographs sit on an ink plate or wash, so their contrast does not depend on the picture behind them alone.
• States are written. Open, closed, past, closing soon and elapsed are words beside the date, not colours alone.
• Motion respects the visitor. With reduced motion set, every section is in place and nothing rises, drifts or zooms; see Motion.
• Hover is never required. The photograph zoom is decoration; nothing is revealed only on hover.

Content checks before launch

• Give every photograph concise alternative text describing what is in the frame; leave purely decorative images empty. When you replace a demo photograph, write its alternative text too.
• If you replace a photograph behind a heading, check that the words are still readable at every width, and set the Cover's focal point so the busy part of the picture is not behind them.
• Keep headings in a meaningful order and write descriptive links.
• Do not communicate open, closed, past or error using colour alone.
• Test navigation, the finder, comparison, the questions and external actions using only a keyboard.
• Zoom to 200%, test at 320 CSS pixels and confirm no information is clipped.
• Avoid autoplay media.
• Recheck contrast after changing any global colour.

Translation

The theme and plugin each include a translation template (lumina-edu/languages/lumina-edu.pot, lumina-edu-core/languages/lumina-edu-core.pot). Use a standard WordPress translation workflow; do not edit the distributed templates as a substitute for a translation. Dates use WordPress locale formatting and the site's timezone. Right-to-left languages

Layouts use logical directions and support RTL. Still review every page, long title, the finder, the comparison table, the rails and the external icons in the target language. Translation length can expose issues that an English demo does not.
