What the theme does
Program discovery works like a real decision
Subject, study level, format, campus and timing resolve into a crawlable program board, comparison view and next-session route.
The academic catalogue has an explicit model
Departments, campuses, faculty, programs, delivery options and sessions stay connected through named editorial selectors.
Admissions facts carry review state
Date-only, timed, rolling and closed deadlines retain their timezone, review date and action intent before the theme publishes an application route.
Native blocks and Elementor share one source
Six server-rendered institutional blocks and the Elementor Free widget read the same plugin-owned records and rendering layer.
Existing content survives the upgrade
Program URLs, taxonomies and sessions remain valid; the additive migration never invents a campus, deadline, fee or application destination.

Before you install
Which file do I upload to WordPress?
lumina-edu.zip, the small one inside your download. The big lumina-edu-package-1.1.1.zip is the whole purchase: theme, child theme, plugin, documentation and licensing. WordPress refuses that one with "the theme is missing the style.css stylesheet". Unpack it first, then upload the small zip under Appearance, Themes, Add New, Upload Theme.
Do I have to install the companion plugin?
Only if you want the structured content and interactive features shown in the demo. They live in lumina-edu-core.zip rather than in the theme, so your data survives a theme change. Appearance, Install plugins offers it and WordPress downloads it from tailthemes.com; you can also upload the identical file from your download by hand. Nothing is force-activated: with the plugin off, every page still renders.
Does it need a page builder?
No. It is a block theme edited in the Site Editor with core blocks and patterns, on WordPress 7.1 or newer. When Elementor Free is active, Lumina adds an institutional catalogue widget that uses the same plugin data and renderer; WooCommerce checkout is not part of the theme.
