ThemeForest Tailwind templates, compared

sources read 18 August 2026

ThemeForest is a marketplace with thousands of independent authors, so it has by far the deepest catalogue and the lowest prices, and it is the right place to buy when you need one cheap template for one site. What it cannot give you is a standard: editions, dark mode, contrast and code quality are set by each author, not by the marketplace. The licence is the difference most buyers miss, and it is the row worth reading first.

ThemeForest and TailThemes, row by row

Ten rows, ten buyer questions. Cells marked not published mean we read the vendor’s own page and it does not say; cells marked not verified mean we could not check it at all.

The licence rows here describe Envato's published terms for ThemeForest items, not any individual author's item. Individual authors do publish dark mode and multiple editions; the point of the table is that the marketplace does not require it, so you have to check every item yourself.

Every template, twice: React and plain HTML

Every one of our 13 templates ships a Next.js and React project and a framework-free HTML build in the same zip. Hand the HTML to a client on any stack, or open the React project and keep going. No other product in this comparison ships both editions of the same design.

Which one to buy

buy ThemeForest when
  • You need one template for one site and price is the deciding factor.
  • You need a niche nobody else covers. With this many authors, someone has built it.
  • You want WordPress, Laravel or a stack we do not ship.
buy TailThemes when
  • You build more than one site. Our licence covers unlimited projects; the Envato regular licence is one licence per end product.
  • You are building something you will sell. That needs their extended licence, priced per item and per end product.
  • You want one consistent standard rather than an author lottery.
  • You want both editions, both modes and computed contrast on everything you buy.

Where these numbers come from

Every competitor figure above was read from the vendor’s own page on the date beside it. Nothing is estimated. Where a vendor does not publish something, the table says so instead of guessing.
